  1. In a skillet placed on medium high heat, add a little olive oil and the bratwurst. Brown the sausages and heat through. Set them aside covered in foil to make the sauce. In the same skillet, add a bit more olive oil and the finely chopped onion on medium heat. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes, then deglaze with the beer. Add the beef broth and mustard and mix completely. Over high heat, stir and reduce. Add the bratwurst back to the skillet and reheat in the sauce.
  2. Serve with caramelized sliced onions and skillet browned potatoes spiked with a few caraway seeds. Serve more German mustard on the side for dipping and a cold beer, preferably from Germany.
